CONCEPCIÓN S.A. EXPANDS TO BRAZIL

On December 22, Concepción SA acquired 100% of the shares of the Brazilian BMG Alimentos Ltda, a meat packer and distributor of pork and beef. Headquartered in the state of Rio de Janeiro, BMG has nine affiliates domiciled in the states of Paraná, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

The existing pork meat packer plant has a daily slaughter capacity of 1,200 heads per day;  Concepción S.A. plans to promptly expand this capacity to 1,800 heads.  The beef operation has the capacity to slaughter 550 heads of cattle per day, in addition to having a sausage factory and distribution company with logistic centers in Paraná, Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
 
This acquisition will allow Concepción S.A. to expand its Paraguay and Bolivia processing capacity, expand its sustainable product offering to all major international markets.
